CERN-ITER collaboration under new leadership

Since 2008, CERN and the global fusion project ITER have collaborated in the design and manufacturing of superconducting magnets and associated technologies, with CERN becoming the "reference laboratory" for testing ITER's superconducting strands.

On 24 June, CERN's Lucio Rossi presided over his final meeting as head of the CERN-ITER collaboration steering committee. Rossi handed the baton to colleague Miguel Jimenez, head of CERN's Technology Department, and now has his eyes set on a new challenge: the High Luminosity LHC
