CERN celebrates its 60th anniversary with a series of events webcast live

The events for the 60th anniversary of CERN continue this week and next week. You can watch these cultural and artistic events as well as the official ceremony of the 60th anniversary live on the web at:

On Wednesday 24 September at 1.30pm, CERN is holding its second TEDxCERN conference with 15 exciting presentations on the theme “Forward: Charting the future with science”.  For more information see the TEDxCERN website.

On Friday 26 September at 9am, join in for a day of presentations about the transfer of technology from research to society with the symposium "From Physics to Daily Life." Check out the programme

That evening, at 6pm, as part of the European Researchers' Night, CERN invites you to a fusion of science and poetry. Six poets visited CERN and met physicists. The poems inspired by this visit will be unveiled in the presence of physicists Hubert Reeves, Etienne Klein and Michel Spiro. Information on the POPscience event organized by CERN for the European Researchers' Night.

On Monday 29 September, follow the official ceremony of the 60th anniversary of CERN from 1.30pm. Starting with the screening of the three winning entries of the ‘Inspired by CERN’ short film competition. followed by an experimental music project  ‘LHChamber’ Music, official speeches given by the representatives of CERN and of CERN member states and a concert by the European Union Youth Orchestra, directed by Maestro Vladimir Ashkenazy.
