Djuna Croon: Hints of Light New Physics from Gravitational Waves

In this talk I will explore the unique potential of gravitational waves to probe light degrees of freedom beyond the Standard Model. The focus will be on gravitational waves from binary mergers, detectable by ground-based interferometers. After a brief review of what we can learn from the gravitational waveform, I will give specific examples of models that can be probed. I will also talk about a new proposal to use the location of the black hole mass gap to probe new physics.

Note that the talk will be at 5pm instead of usual 3pm!
