Which EFT


I will discuss effective field theories (EFTs) beyond the Standard
Model (SM) with linearly and non-linearly realized electroweak
symmetry. One difference between these two is the UV behavior of $2
\to n$ scattering amplitudes. In the non-linear case, the unitarity
constraints on 2->n amplitudes force the EFT cut-off scale to be
parametrically close to $4 \pi v \sim  3$ TeV, even for tiny
deviations from the SM Lagrangian. I will illustrate this with the
discussion of the cubic Higgs coupling deformations.
