Today at 4.20pm CET, as part of the ongoing Hangout with CERN series on YouTube, CERN is conducting a virtual field trip that links the school of Eric Chen, Grand Prize winner of the 2013 Google Science Fair, with CERN physicists and engineers, who will showcase the laboratory and answer questions.

Students from the Quest Research Programme of the Canyon Crest Academy high school in San Diego, California, have the opportunity to look behind the scenes of this world famous particle physics laboratory as part of Eric's prize.

In the meantime, you can find out more about Eric's research, check out CERN's beam line for schools competition – which has the Twitter hashtag #bl4s – or you can watch previous Hangouts with CERN. Enjoy!
