Settle in, reach out: a new space for CERN spouses and partners to connect

Have you recently arrived in the area and are looking for ways to help your spouse or partner settle in, find work or connect with others? You’re not alone – and now there’s a dedicated space to help you and your family navigate life around CERN.

To support the transition for new arrivals and strengthen community ties, HR has teamed up with the Diversity and Inclusion Officer (DIO) for the Theoretical Physics (TH) department to launch the CERN Spouses & Partners Forum.

Created by the community, for the community, this forum is designed to foster connections and the exchange of experiences, tips and advice on topics related to integrating, job hunting and more.

The forum includes several categories:

  • General discussions
  • Job search advice and opportunities
  • Information for those preparing to join CERN
  • Meet-up and networking opportunities
  • Schools and childcare resources

You are warmly invited to take part: post information, reply to questions or simply explore the discussions already going on. The more the community participates, the richer and more useful the forum will become!

As the forum is community-driven, the advice and information shared there reflect personal experiences rather than official CERN positions. For any formal guidance, please reach out directly to the relevant CERN administrative services.

On the road to rapid growth, the forum already has over 500 members – and the number keeps rising. We hope this new space will become a valuable and welcoming resource for new CERN personnel and their loved ones.
