The 2026 edition of the CERN relay race, which took place on 7 May, attracted a total of 194 teams (compared with 184 last year) and over 1100 runners. Times ranged from 12 minutes and 32 seconds (with veterans “The Shabbys” once again the winners!) to over 22 minutes.

The walking race brought together 33 participants, and the children from the Jardin des Particules had their own race again this year! The CERN Alumni Network was of course involved once again, with 15 teams taking part in the online relay race.

The annual CERN relay race is organised jointly by the CERN Running Club and the Staff Association. A big thank you to all the participants and volunteers, who always make it such a success.
