More than 30 CERN colleagues from Beams, Engineering, Experimental Physics, Finance, Human resources, IT and Accelerator Systems departments represented CERN at the Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit in Warsaw – Europe’s biggest conference and career fair for women in STEM and tech. CERN’s presence aimed to encourage more women to join and help shape the future of science.
The conference welcomed more than 12,000 participants from 57 countries. CERN’s delegation took part in keynote sessions, technical talks, mentoring, panels, and networking, including exchanges with representatives from institutions such as NASA and PEJ (Polish Nuclear Power Plants).
The CERN booth was constantly busy and one of the visitors was Barbara Nowacka, Poland’s Minister of National Education, who expressed her enthusiasm for CERN’s educational outreach.
Over 200 women registered in CERN’s HR system thanks to the team’s efforts. We look forward to the prospect of welcoming some of them to CERN one day.
