Use reusable cups, mugs and bottles

Members of the CERN community are encouraged to use reusable containers at water fountains and coffee machines.

As part of CERN’s efforts to reduce waste, disposable cups were removed from water fountains and other facilities several years ago, with the exception of the Nespresso coffee stations. Please bring your own reusable cup, mug or bottle whenever you fill up your water or grab a coffee to help reduce the amount of single-use waste generated on site.

Keep restaurant seating available during lunch hours

To ensure that restaurant facilities can accommodate lunchtime demand, priority for seating between 12.00 and 14.00 is given to people having lunch. During this period, members of the CERN community who wish to work, study or hold meetings are encouraged to use alternative spaces whenever possible.
