New short-term unplanned medical, death and disability insurance for MPAs

New short-term unplanned medical, death and disability insurance for CERN associated members of the personnel (MPAs) is now available.
This insurance is intended for short assignments of up to 90 days within any 180-day period (renewable under the same conditions). Please note that holders of a legitimation card are not eligible.
It has been designed to cover unplanned medical situations as well as occupational accidents occurring on CERN premises or during duty travel. Pre-existing conditions are covered in the event of unplanned and medically necessary situations, but not the long-term treatment that could have been foreseen or could wait until return to the home country.
This insurance plan is strictly personal and does not cover family members.
Coverage highlights:
- 100% reimbursement for hospitalisation and inpatient treatment (including at Hôpital de la Tour)
- 100% reimbursement for laboratory tests prescribed by a doctor
- Up to 600 CHF for dental treatment within any 12-month period
- 50% reimbursement (up to 600 CHF) for psychiatric care within a six-month period
- Access to multilingual Telehealth consultations with general practitioners
- Worldwide coverage
The overall annual coverage is limited to 75 000 CHF.
Capital benefits:
- 10 000 CHF in the event of death
- 75 000 CHF in the event of total and permanent disability
Coverage limits:
- Minimum duration: 2 weeks
- Maximum duration: 90 days within any 180-day period, renewable
Premiums:
- Monthly premium: 102.50 CHF
- Premiums are calculated on a pro rata basis
