IEEE and CERN sign a Read and Publish agreement for 2021-2023

This is the first partnership of its kind between CERN and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers

The CERN Scientific Information Service (SIS) has signed a Read and Publish agreement with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). This brings the number of agreements between CERN and publishers to four, after IOP, Springer Nature and Elsevier signed with CERN.

IEEE is a major publisher in electrical and electronic engineering, and this new agreement enables CERN-corresponding authors to publish their articles in all IEEE journals in open access. In addition, the CERN community can access the whole IEEE Electronic Library, including scientific journals, proceedings and standards.

This agreement is of particular importance as it concerns engineering, a field in which open-access publications are not as prevalent as in high-energy physics.

Visit the SIS website for more information on agreements with publishers.
