The CERN Safety Rules listed below have been published on the CERN website dedicated to the Safety Rules:

• Safety Guideline SG-C-2-0-1: Explosion protection measures

This Safety Guideline provides guidance for the implementation of Safety Regulation SR-C “Chemical Agents”, has been updated.

The main updates concern the training of workers:

• The training course structure has been revised to incorporate a virtual classroom course for the ATEX Level 0 training to reduce waiting times for those subscribed.
• The ATEX Level 1 course remains an in-person classroom training.
• Further, an e-Learning course dedicated to “ATEX – CERN Specifics” has been introduced.

Safety Guidelines provide detailed instructions for the implementation of CERN Safety Rules. Compliance with a Safety Guideline provides a presumption of conformity with the associated CERN Safety Rule.
