On Monday, 3 August 2026, the Tour de France Femmes will pass through the Pays de Gex and the Geneva area. The route will affect several roads providing access to CERN sites, particularly LHC Point 5 (CMS) and Point 6, and may also impact traffic more generally in the Geneva region.
Personnel working at or visiting LHC Point 5 (CMS) and Point 6 are advised to allow extra travel time and plan their journeys accordingly. A CERN security guard will be present at Point 5 throughout the affected period.
Traffic disruptions are expected at the following times:
- Point 5 (CMS): 12.45–13.00 (caravan) and 14.00–14.15 (race)
- Point 6: 12.30–12.45 (caravan) and 13.50–14.30 (race)
The timings are indicative and may vary slightly depending on race conditions. Further information about the event is available on the Pays de Gex tourism website: https://www.paysdegex-montsjura.com/en/the-2026-tour-de-france-everything-you-need-to-know/
