Each year in spring the International Particle Physics Outreach Group organizes the International Masterclasses, which give students the opportunity to analyse data from the LHC. Since they started in 2005, the masterclasses have grown beyond the group’s member countries. This year, as many as 200 institutions participated, in 41 countries spanning the globe – from Israel and Palestine to South Africa, from New Zealand to Ecuador, in addition to many sites in Europe and North America. Well into the LHC era, the masterclasses now feature the use of fresh data from each of the collider’s four big experiments.
