CAD Workshop - Part Design for Beginners

Where:

3179/R-E06 at CERN

What is it?
This 2x2h workshop introduces the basic principles of single-part design in parametric CAD software such as (but not limited to) Solidworks or Fusion360.
No prior knowledge is required.
Please note that this is NOT a CATIA-course and will not enable you to use CATIA in a professional manner.
For more information on CATIA, take a look at the CATIA/PLM courses in the Learning Hub.

Who is it for?
Everyone who wants to start using CAD software and design their own parts!
With 3D printing getting more and more popular, the need to create digital models has surpassed its engineering roots and reached the mainstream maker and hobbyist.
This workshop will enable you to create simple designs and teach you the basics of common CAD workflows.
Afterwards you can practise independently and further your knowledge through personal projects, no matter their scope.

When?
- Monday 25. August from 17:30 -  19:30
- Tuesday 26. August from 17:30 - 19:30

Where?
The workshop will be held at CERN IdeaSquare. The building is located next to the Globe. To find the exact position, you can search for Building 3179 in MapCERN.

Preparation
Please come to the workshop with either Solidworks or Fusion 360 downloaded to your computer. During the workshop, we will not have the time to do this. We do not have any licenses, but usually they offer a trial for free.
