Cornering natural supersymmetry using ultra-soft signatures at CMS

Where:

503/1-001 at CERN

Results from the CMS experiment are presented for natural supersymmetry (SUSY) targeting so-called compressed scenarios, namely models with very small mass differences among the SUSY partners. Such models pose unique experimental challenges, including for triggering, offline selection, and background treatment. For the first time, a suite of new searches cover the full range of mass difference between the lightest chargino and neutralino, putting direct pressure on SUSY as a proposed solution to the hierarchy problem. The potential impact of future data will be discussed, along with the prospects for the HL-LHC program to make a conclusive test.
