Luca will provide a presentation navigating through the current landscape of server-grade hardware. Focusing on CPUs, GPUs, and storage devices, this session offers an overview of key advancements, emphasising their relevance and potential benefits for our work at CERN. Attendees can expect a detailed yet accessible discussion, providing valuable insights into the evolving landscape of data centre hardware.

Bio

Luca is co-responsible for the procurement, installation, testing and hardware support of servers and storage system equipment in the CERN data centres.
Luca is the CTO for Computing of CERN openlab. He is also leading the system administration team responsible for the management of the hardware and computing resources in openlab, in particular providing access and support to end-users as well as concerning performance tuning and profiling of scientific applications.
