Quanutm Opportunities in Theoretical Physics (TH institute on Quantum Simulation)

Where:

4/3-006 at CERN
Quantum computing offers transformative potential for theoretical high energy physics by enabling the simulation of quantum systems that are intractable on classical hardware. In particular, quantum computers promise new avenues for tackling long-standing challenges such as the real-time dynamics and finite density which are critical inputs to the LHC and beyond.  This potential is not guaranteed, but instead requires new developments in the formalism of quantum field theories with real phenomenological implications.  In this talk, I will discuss the potential avenues for new physics research and what current research is being done to enable quantum computers to solve these problems.
