Did you know that your brain makes up just 2% of your body’s weight, yet consumes 20% of its energy?
The brain is truly our body’s control centre, a complex organ responsible for thought, memory, emotion, movement, vision, breathing, temperature, hunger and virtually every other function that sustains us and enables us to thrive. In the lead-up to World Brain Day (celebrated globally in July), CERN’s Medical Service invites you to explore your most powerful organ during “My Brain and Me”, a one-day event focused on understanding, maintaining and enhancing your brain.
What’s on the programme?
10:00 – 15:00 – Interactive stands run by the Medical Service, Université de Genève (UNIGE), Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève (HUG), Fondation pour la Recherche sur le Cerveau (FRC), the CERN Knowledge Transfer Group (KT) and the Supporting Neurodiversity at CERN (SNAC) network.
12:00 – 13:30 – Lunchtime conference featuring expert talks from the Swiss Centre for Affective Sciences (CISA – UNIGE), the HUG NeuroCentre team and other specialists in brain science and wellbeing (registration required).
The aim of the campaign is to make brain science accessible, practical and relevant for all. Come and discover how neuroscience can improve your quality of life, your performance at work and your relationships.
