When the CERN site closes its doors on 19 December for the end-of-year closure, CERN Science Gateway will remain open for you to enjoy with your friends and family.

CERN Science Gateway exhibitions will be welcoming visitors for most of the winter break, from Tuesday to Sunday, 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., closing only on 24, 25 and 31 December and 1 January.

Families and individuals can book their visit in advance online (advised) or on the spot. This booking gives them access to the exhibitions, short films (including a new documentary about CERN by Jean-Luc Perréard and Cédric Klapisch), science shows, the Big Bang Café and the CERN shop (note that CERN personnel receive a 10% discount when they show their CERN access card). In addition, they can book lab workshops on site (after check-in, on a first-come-first-served basis, depending on availability). Please note that there are no guided tours during the end-of-year closure and that group visits (12 visitors or more) will resume on Tuesday, 6 January.

Use of public transport is recommended, and paid parking spaces are available. For more information visit: https://visits.web.cern.ch/getting-here

CERN Science Gateway guides have welcomed about 800 000 visitors since the centre opened to the public on 8 October 2023. Guide training is still available if you would like to join the team.

Come and visit for yourselves and enjoy CERN Science Gateway.
