Celebrate Marie Skłodowska Curie’s 150th birthday

On 7 November 2017, CERN, the University of Liverpool and LMU Munich will be hosting an event on the life and research of Marie Skłodowska-Curie

On 7 November 2017, three international partners, CERN, the University of Liverpool and LMU Munich, will be hosting an event on the life and research of Marie Skłodowska-Curie. The talks will also touch on the achievements of the European Union’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, named after the double Nobel-Prize-winning Polish-French scientist. The talk is open to both the research community and the general public. There will be public talks and poster sessions in all three locations, in addition to activities aimed at schoolchildren. All talks will be made available to watch via video streaming.

The programme of the day at CERN includes:

3.00 – 4.00 p.m. poster presentation session with interviews and live video streaming (in the area outside the Council Chamber; posters will be up by 10 a.m.)

The poster session will be a chance to learn about the research results and career paths of fellows on the Marie Skłodowska-Curie programme at CERN. It will form an important part of this international outreach event. Posters will be up from 10 a.m. and the authors present from 3 p.m.

4.00 p.m. Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions - an international success story – talk by Dr Marco Silari (Council Chamber)

4.30 p.m.Accelerating Researcher Training – talk by Professor Carsten P. Welsch, University of Liverpool (live-streamed at CERN in the Council Chamber)
