New Office for Data Privacy website launched

Following the creation of the new Office of Data Privacy Protection last year, a new website offering resources and advice has been set up

Last year saw the creation of the new Office of Data Privacy Protection (ODPP) to make sure CERN adopts best practice for handling personal data, especially in light of the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which will become law in Europe this coming May.

During 2018, the initiatives to demonstrate CERN’s commitment to data privacy protection will continue to gather momentum. One of the ways the ODPP is hoping to improve best practice across the Organization is through the creation of a new website, https://cern.ch/odpp, which offers information, advice and teaching materials. The site will continue to grow throughout the year with more resources.

The ODPP is also available to help with advice on the handling of personal data at CERN and to advise anyone whose personal data is processed by the Organization.
