One month to go till CERN Open Days

Check out all the activities – above and below ground – that you can visit at the CERN Open Days

On 28 and 29 September, CERN will open its doors to the world.

Meet the people who make the discoveries, visit the installations where they work, discover the computer centre at the heart of the worldwide LHC computing grid, explore hi-tech laboratories, descend 100 metres underground to the experimental caverns, visit the control centres where the scientists and engineers monitor and control their elaborate instruments, take in fascinating presentations about this amazing scientific adventure

All visits are free. On the surface, 35 sites will be open to the public, entrance free with no need for ticket or booking.

As the capacity for underground visits is limited however, access to the underground facilities will be by reservation only, and tickets must be obtained from the CERN Open Days website. For safety reasons, children aged 12 or under will not be admitted to the underground sites. Each person will be able to reserve up to four tickets, which will be valid for a specific day and timeslot. The tickets, which are free of charge, are being made available on the site progressively every working day between 15 August and 15 September.

We look forward to welcoming you to CERN!
